The 1st edition of the 3x3 Youth World Championship is taking place in the lively and hip city of Rimini renowned for its parties, hotels and most notably for the "Dolce Vita" lifestyle that is enjoyed near the Adriatic Sea.

With 240 players making up 60 teams - 36 for boys and 24 for girls - that are coming from 40 countries around the world, Rimini is making history by holding the first-ever of event of its kind.

The 3x3 Youth World Championships will last three full days, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday (9-11 September).

In addition to the games taking place over those three days, players will also compete in a number of individual competitions, which are sure to provide great highlights with dunking, skills and shooting contests.

The format of the team competition for both boys and girls will be round robins with the four best teams from each group progressing to the Eight-Finals. The Finals are scheduled to be played from 6 to 7 pm on Sunday evening.

The five individual competitions will have qualifications both on Friday and Saturday. The corresponding finals are planned to take place from 3 to 4 pm and from 5.30 to 6 pm on Sunday.
